I’ve also found that, as is to be expected, I’ve had an uptick in back pain corresponding to the stressful things that have happened lately. This is sucky on the one hand, but good on another. Because I get to trip up my brain a little bit. If I get pain that seems to correlate brilliantly with stress, I get to say, “HAH! I caught you, brain! You are not responding to physical stimuli at all right now! You are responding to stress!”
In the long run, this can make it easier to panic less about doing physically intense things. It’s one thing to tell yourself that it’s more a brain problem than a physical injury, but it’s another to catch your brain in the act of pulling off the deception.
Take that, brain! I’m onto you!
